This is a beautiful mid century modernist piece from Jorgen Jensen of Denmark. He established his workshop in Copenhagen in the early 1960s. This cupped cab look is a design he used in brooches, earrings, necklaces, pendants, and bracelets. I have seen it with faux turquoise cabs, black cabs, green cabs and amethyst colored cabs. This bracelet has7 cabochon accented links and measures 7 1/2" when clasped. The width is 3/4". The markings are all around the bottom sides of the cab link closest to the spring clasp. It says: "PEWTER 220 A" on one side, and "DENMARK" preceded by the "Jorgen Jensen" signature on the other side. The stones are more than just blue glass stones. They remind me of moonstones and of tiger eyes, in that there is an area or line of whiter blue which appears as the light strikes the stones at different angles. This may have to do with the shape of the concave settings the stones are in. The shape of the setting certainly is the reason for the bluish halo deep in the cup where the edge of the stone reflects against the nearby pewter. The effect is wonderful, and no doubt part of the reason this style link was such a hit for Jensen. The blue color is what I would describe as a medium blue with a touch of periwinkle. The bracelet is in VERY nice vintage condition. All stones appear soundly set. No repairs appear to have been made. The very last cab link, by the end link, has taken a small hit to its corner on the pewter cupped setting. In photo 1 if you look at the left hand end, right front corner of that link, you will see what I mean. Not a biggie, but worth mentioning. If you have any questions, please contact me.
